Aiken December I Brings A New Year and New Goals

The White Horses team celebrated the end of the 2022 show season and welcomed 2023 during the Aiken December Classic I, held December 1-4 at Bruce’s Field.

Olivia Lonneman stepped into the Adult ranks with Quire Van’t Laura and won the Ariat Adult Medal for a great debut. The pair also contested the 3’6” Amateur-Owner section, earning excellent ribbons.

Jockamo Z and Stuart Rumsey put together some lovely courses in the USHJA 2’9” and Children’s Hunter 15-17, sections that resulted in impressive ribbons. The pair also claimed third in the NAL/WIHS Children’s Hunter Classic.

Belus G and Helen Byrd strutted to victory in the 3’3” Green Hunter under saddle, and with their great ribbons over fences took the reserve championship.

Suits You and Lillian Cain made their presence known in the Equitation division. They picked up ribbons in the THIS Medal, SCHJA Governors Cup and the NHS Hamel Foundation Medal after great rides. 

Frances Eischeid rode Kabrio to victory in the NHS Hamel Medal and had other accolades in the Equitation, including the top call overall in the WIHS after placing second in the WIHS Hunter and Jumper phases.

Fly Away’s Pippi Longstocking and Sophie Stofko added some more wins to their Short Stirrup resume, with great performances in the Hunter and Equitation classes.

Anders Paulson and Balou De Nous continued their winning ways, taking the NAL Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic blue ribbon. And Carramar C and Kathryn McCarthy added great jumper ribbons to the White Horses banner, including fourth in the $10,000 Jumper Classic.

Buckaroo Express and Logan Mozingo made an impressive debut in the Children's Ponies. They earned some top ribbons, including a second place over fences.
