The Emerging Athletes of White Horses

We’re excited to announce that Stuart Rumsey and Olivia Lonneman were accepted into the USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Regional Training Session! This EAP session will be held July 28-August 1 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, North Carolina.

Over five days, these athletes will participate in mounted flatwork, gymnastics exercises and coursework with top clinician Cynthia Hankins. They will also take part in intensive stable management sessions with expert Anne Thornbury.

Following the Regional Training Sessions, 16 of the Regional Training Session participants and a select number of stable managers will be invited to attend the National Training Session, held November 11-14 at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. At the conclusion of the session, one rider is named the overall USHJA EAP National Champion based on their performance in the riding and stable management sessions throughout the week, earning a $3,000 grant to be applied toward the cost of advanced training with an approved trainer. The Champion and Reserve Champion are also offered the opportunity to participate in the following year’s USHJA Gold Star Clinics.
