Winter Winners at Aiken

The weather gods may not have played nicely at Bruce’s Field in Aiken in January, but we still had fun and huge achievements!

Congratulations to Anders Paulson and Balou De Nous for their impressive victory in the Welcome Stake! Anders also had the pressure on as he rode his mother, Kristin’s, new horse Emontros After Party in their first show. They didn’t disappoint and picked up a win in a 1.0m Open Jumper class and a fourth in the 1.10m.

Kathryn Mc Carthy and Carramar C also impressed in the jumpers, claiming second place in the $9,999 Mini Prix. Kathryn also rode Sister Act LLC’s Athena to top ribbons in the Adult Amateur Hunters, including a class win and a second over jumps.

Lillian Cain and Suits You also earned a blue ribbon, this time in a .90m jumper class before she tackled the equitation. There, she earned a variety of ribbons from the flat equitation to the EJ Haun and SCHJA Governor’s Cup classes. Frances Eischeid also competed in the equitation, earning second place in the WIHS Jumper Phase and seventh in the USHJA 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal aboard Kabrio. And Stuart Rumsey and Jockamo Z picked up excellent ribbons in the 3’3” Junior Hunters, for a successful show.

New to us but not new to us...Caletto and Hampton Tillman claimed a top ribbon in the Low Children’s Hunters, while Hope Murph and Party Boy made their own debut, taking a ribbon in the Low Children’s Hunters, as well.

Logan Mozingo and Buckaroo Express made their mark in the Small Ponies and collected some impressive ribbons, including a third in the conformation class and second under saddle. Sophie Stock and Fly Away’s Pippi Longstockings added more ribbons to their Short Stirrup collection, too.

Olivia Lonneman took time off from the College of Charleston to ride Quiero Van’t Laar to stellar performances in the Amateur-Owner Hunters for a variety of good ribbons.
